Connect Blogger to Google Plus

As Google continues to integrate it's other services with Google Plus, we start to get a better picture of the future of Google, as well as, publishing and sharing on the web. Google's integration of Plus and Blogger is one key example:
Back in October we made it possible for Blogger in Draft users to use their Google+ profile on their blog. This option is now available to all Blogger users, and as a result, we're starting to roll out the first of many Google+ features. Starting today, if you have linked your blog to your Google+ account you will be presented with a prefilled Google+ share box immediately after publishing a post. The share box will contain a +snippet of your post that you can share with your circles on Google+.
And why does this matter? Because of its impact on search results:

See why this matters now? No? Here are some suggestions:

  • Increased click-through.
  • Better recognition of search content by author.
  • Organization of web content via search by author.
  • The ability for search users to understand authority and expertise by author.
It will be changes like this that become the next fundamental change to the very fabric of how we access information online, use search engines, and the internet itself.
